Nothing but the ocean tide of each breath but

Space has never been so full

Every particle once thought empty

Fulfills a purpose in vacillating

The changes in the way his lips

move to get each paramount word

just perfect

The swing from chord to chord, fingers

moving deftly across a board,

riding on that high of creativity

and the strum of gleaming strings

Together or alone, a harmony so magnetic,

every nerve buzzes with the hot tension of sounds

So powerful, so twilight but concentrated

Leaving a listening existence in utter awe

of such paradisiac imperfections.

The author's comments:
I started out thinking about how great my headphones are, blocking all sound out and enhancing the performances of the already amazing artists I listen to. Then I thought about my boyfriend and his lovely accent. Which lead me to think about the music itself and how I use it to help me get through some days. This poem is just a combination of all of it. It's totally open to interpretation though. "Swim" by Jack's Mannequin was going through my head while I wrote this. Good song.
