In the Dark
Slowly, I stroll along in the silent and sweet night air,
Happy, as I always am to feel the wind blow through my hair,
Smiling, I skip and laugh along,
Without a care or clue or feeling that anything is wrong,
Suddenly, I trip and stumble over something I cannot see,
Pain grips my body as I wonder how this could have ever happened to me,
Surely, I would be better off now if I were in the light,
But as the truth uncovers, my mind goes into fright,
The light reveals the face of a person so close and dear to my heart,
And realizing he was the one who did this makes me miss the dark.
