Your Song
I wake up to the sound of guitar music, floating across the room.
Your voice is singing clear and deep, the most beautiful song I have ever heard.
We gather around in a circle around you,
As we listen to you sing us the song of your life.
With each word you sing, I hear every struggle you have faced.
In your eyes I see the ghosts of memories that never seem to fade.
Although I hear and feel your pain, I can sense no anger or bitterness,
Only joy that you have triumphed over every obstacle thrown your way.
One day I hope to be as strong as you, to overcome any hardship that I may face
If ever I feel that I cannot win, I’ll just close my eyes and remember your song.
