The world around me is alive with sound
Illustrious creatures in beauty crowned
Tadpoles and fish dart and dive
Plants of all kinds flourish and thrive

As heron soar gracefully through the air
I remain still as I silently stare
At nature’s extraordinary prize
Slowly deteriorate before my eyes

The once magnificent wonder
Disappears as quickly as thunder
There is no explanation for this
I now gaze into a useless abyss

The land that was once filled with animal’s singing
Is so silent my ears are left ringing
A place that once symbolized new birth
Is just another empty hole, left in the Earth
