Ode to Bowie
Oh David Bowie hair so red as flame
A star is painted ‘cross your famous face
With glossy lips my idol you became
All the glitter, costumes don’t debase
The spectacle is not what takes away
For only those who scoff will never know
The joy, the stage of your divine display
For masks are rarely masks it seems, and lo!
The music of your making so enchants
The albums that you penned so artfully
I lose my head, ideas they came to plant
Ideas I realized somewhat painfully
That while a star so far away from me
A hero to me you will always be!
