Introduction to reading

you must be slow
but deliberate.
Try to understand their strange language.

Fly with the words.
Stay close,
don’t float away.
If they talk,
don’t interrupt.

Run with the words.
In forests of paper.
Should flames consume,
stop its carnage.

If fire should prevail,
mourn for those lost.
Comfort the words,
for friends have been lost.

Remember them,
but don’t let them hold you back.
Be free and find more.
