Faerie Visitor
Flitting sprite on nimble feet
Among the blossoms that I meet
You, with your lovely eyes,
Colored wings that touch the skies

Bewitcher, who holds my gaze
Youth you have for all your days
Clad in spring’s vivid life
Escaping sorrow’s eternal scythe

As you bounce from leaf to leaf
Smiling with those milky teeth
Clever, wicked, is your face
And your dance is airy grace

But when in vain I try to trap
My tiny faerie of glistening sap
Cruel jeers in return I get
Away hops the cunning imp I met
