Storm Poem
Kids playing in the street,
Animals basking in the sun
Adults working in the yard
Everyone is happy.
Then the sun goes dark
Blue skies turn to black skies
Animals run for cover
People hurry into their houses
Lightning cracks the air
Thunder shakes the buildings
Everyone and everything stand by
For the rain and hail to pass by
Animals slowly come back out
Looking around the wet surroundings
Children scuttle to the nearest puddle
And life returns to the way it was.
