Dear Andy,
Although I did not know you,
I can feel you in the air
that we're still breathing in,
while you are lying there.
I hear you in the voices
of those who rarely speak
i have learned to simply listen,
and i can hear the floorboards creak.
Although I do not know you, still,
I feel as though I do.
I was once familiar with the sun,
and so, I've become familiar with you.
But the sun must set.
It's a sign, we may say.
After all, you were golden,
and, therefore, were not made to stay.
Although I could not know you
when you were full of life and vibrant,
I thank you for spreading your seeds,
that we can now savor, and plant.
Please, rest in peace, I ask,
as my final words before i retreat.
For, rest assured, you have not died in vain.
So farewell, my friend, whom I never shall meet.
