Chairs set up around the pit,
Everyone roasts marshmallows on a mini spit

Listening to the fire crackle and pop,
Keep adding kindling so it won't stop.

It slowly burns lower and lower,
Till it is a dim orange-brown.

Pile on several more logs,
Parents tell their kids not to be hogs.

Eventually the fire will be just ash,
But just remember it's twinkle and flash.

Fireplace fires simply cannot compare,
To the campfire and the chilly night air.
