Graduation
So many years, through thick and thin,
I do not know where to begin.
We’ve been by each other’s side the entire time.
Like Jack and Jill in our old nursery rhyme.
Many things have happened in our short story called life.
We’ve gone through it together, in laughter and strife.
We’re growing up and changing, becoming adults.
We look back and see now that some things really were our fault.
We’ve come to learn that our teachers really do care.
They’ve planted seeds in us, starting the growth of something once bare.
Even though we may deny it, we do love each other.
We’re all in it together, as sister and brother.
When one of us fell, the others helped picked them up.
As if we were mothers or fathers and had lost a pup.
If one of us was out of line, we set them straight.
We wanted everyone to make it through the gate.
We all have our goals and expectations for our lives to come.
We’re paving new paths, no matter where we are from.
Even though it hurts to say goodbye,
It’s now our turn to soar and fly high.
