Two Butterflies
Two butterflies flutter high,
Wings of blue and wings of yellow,
Butterfly blue lifts up a spirit,
Butterfly yellow steals away a childhood,
A boom like thunder,
A flash like lightning,
Then screams,
Terrible screams,
The screams of men,
The screams of animals,
The screams of the dying and the broken,
The dust rises up,
The air becomes a choking cloud,
Shrouding two lonesome figures,
Huddled on the ground,
One man is truly dead,
One man is sort of dying,
And seen only by the eyes of those long gone,
Are a blue and a yellow butterfly.
