A Guide to Friendship in Life and on Mars
Her scraggly brown hair hangs limply on her back
Her blue eyes outlined in dark makeup,
A nervous smile hesitating on the edge of her lip,
She used to grin
A flat out, completely unselfconscious, teeth-showing, life-loving grin.
I haven't seen it in years,
only in pictures, moments, frozen in a segments of time.
Always unsure of herself—
She is no super hero.
But she was always there.
