candle
child, i can see it in your eyes
it's
been a long day
come child, light me up
dry your tears,
let me
take worry
and thrust it into the fires of caramel-scented glory
behold! as woe goes up in flame
&observe
as regret receives the same fate
watch as anger writhes in gently-heated agony,
take heed to frustration's final words.
child, your secrets are safe with me.
i destroy all evidence of your words immediately
but
child, be careful - even my faithful flames have
limits
take me into too much confidence; i will
decay
and disappear with my flames.
child,
i won't be here forever.
