Trapped in a cage with no key, I reach out between these bars of decay,

Grasping for your frayed collar, wrapped so daintily around your neck.

I stare at your full moon eyes, widened in horror

At something of your own creation.

Trapped in a room with no door, I claw at these rotting walls,

Regrowing with each gouge made, fortified by your very touch.

I stare at your bloodless hand, shaking so violently

At something of your creation.

Trapped in a cave with no light, I feel blindly along the edge,

Begging for salvation, cradled so gently in your palm.

I stare at your cheap smile, glowing in pride,

At something of your own creation.

Trapped in a maze with no end, I wander these worn paths,

Running towards freedom, always just beyond my reach.

I stare at your ivory forehead, wrinkled in disapproval,

At something of your own creation.

Trapped in a house with no safety, I roam the ornate hallways,

Strolling nervously, feigning my own contentment.

But I stare back at my reflection, screaming in disgust,

At something of my own creation.
