Declared
As I lay here dying, trying to catch one last breath
Clear! I feel the shock from the defibrillator
I know my life has come to a close, but I’m not ready for death
It was bound to happen sooner or later
They warned me but I was too caught up to care what they say
Not realizing it, I took my loved ones, who cared the most and pushed them all away
At that party, it was all a game, so drink after drink
I took them all down and didn’t come to think
How my actions would affect not only myself but everyone around me as well
For what was about to happen next, I could not tell
I should have let them take my car keys
But I didn’t think I would never again see my family’s
Beautiful smiles and loving personalities
But I forced myself to become another statistic, just one more alcohol induced fatality
So I’m sorry to my parents and I’m sorry to my siblings and I’m sorry to all those who cared
But I have no pulse, my life is over, it has been declared
