life is a final exam

You start exited, ready to go,
Then a question comes you do not know.
You strain your brain and try to remember;
A random fact from last December.
You skip it and realize; this isn’t much fun
And you know, you aren’t even halfway done!

The author's comments:
during the school year in communication arts, our teacher made us write a small poem about something we can compare our lives to. we were doing MAP testing at the time, and it inspired me to write about the frustrations of testing.
