"30 years from now, it won't matter what shoes you wore, how your hair looked, or the jeans you bought. What will matter is what you learned and how you used it."

It makes you think
Then it makes you stop
To gaze at what’s right in front of you
That’s when I fade away
From the past to the present
I try to learn from everything
I’ve been through
And what I’ve been told
But I fade away.

The future holds
What I’ve been searching for
What I’ve been praying for
But then I stop and think
And fade away
Like rushing water from a stream
Into the ocean.

Who do you think you are
Trying to help me
You don’t even understand.
I’ve been through this
You tell me
How am I to know?

This is the life of a child
A confused child about love
Come and save me
Talk to me and listen
This is the life of a child
Who fades away
From her life
Who tries to learn
But fails to keep knowledge
Who searches for something she’s already found

You didn’t understand before
Now you do, more than I
Since I trusted you
And you listened
I got somewhere
Without fading
The past is fading now
Love took its toll.
