As Long As We Shall Live
No longer may we look at each other and see our differences,
But may we see our similarities, as brothers and sisters.
No longer may we speak with our mouths,
But with our smiles, a language everyone can understand.
No longer may we hear only what we want to hear,
But may we listen fully to every syllable leaving the lips.
No longer may we smell the horridness of life,
But the only smell that is truly satisfying, love.
No longer may we touch each other’s hands and see the color,
But may we touch and feel every bone in the hand.
No longer may we see the glass half empty,
But half full of life’s loveliness.
No longer may we think as two,
But as one we are unstoppable.
You and I are equal, the same in many ways,
But may we not see the differences, for it will ruin today.
We are divided by two,
United we stand
As long as we shall live.
