Take these words and make them yours
Do with them as you please
No more metaphors
No more similes
No more will these words hold meaning to me
I no longer view the world through a snow globe
I no longer taste the smell of spring
I no longer personify music nor laughter
I forever give up my poetic degree
It’s but a writer’s right to write what’s wrong and right alike
It’s but a writer’s choice find and loves the life within his sight
Take these words
These hallow words-
There meaning is lost at sea
The boat has sunk
The life vests popped
The waves take over me.
