Through the Eyes of a Holocaust Victim
Red, black, and gray
These are the colors of the day.
Red for the blood of innocents' spilled
For the devouring fires raging still
Swastika relevant on death's arm.
Red, black, and gray
The colors stay.
Black for the smoke that fills the sky
For the ashes of all who died
The darkest of hours closes in.
Red, black, and gray
These colors have always been.
Gray for the prison walls
For the clouds that baracade the sun from all
Sadness lurks inside me.
Red, black, and gray
These are the colors of my final days.
