I Still Do
Sunday morning would be the last time
I’d see you in that door
My only wish was that you’d be
Walking in instead of out.
Everyone says that it’ll be fine
And that you’ll come back
And when you do
This first thing you’re going to want to see
Is me
Standing there smiling.
You wanna hear that I’m still hanging on
Even after all this time
You wanna know that I still love you
Even thought I might not know you
But something tells me
Right now
That I still do.
The more moments passed
The more I realized how strong out love is
When that letter came
Without special people to deliver it
I know that you knew too
The countdown was whining to the last month
And when I read the letter to your son
Over and over again
Tears didn’t come
Only smiles shined on my face
Smiles of how proud I was to be your wife.
And while I lie awake in the bed
That you woke up in
And would tell me
Every morning
That you’re glad to see me
Right next to you
Because that’s where you belong
You missed me, you’d tell me
Now I’m waiting for you to be back
Where you belong, right next to me
Now that you’re back
Here next to me
I’ll say it
I still do
Love you
I still do.
