"Your dreams only become intangible when you stop reaching" ~me ;)

What lies beneath
the optimism
and the smiles
that are only there
when I'm around who I care about?

What lies beneath
the darkness
that only exists
to those who are nothing?

What lies beneath
who I am
when the other parts of me
aren't there?
Who am I?

What lies beneath
everything?
Beneath the part of me
that I don't even recognize
or acknowledge?

Which part of me
is the truth?
Which part of me
will remain
when adolesence is gone?

The author's comments:
I wrote this because as teenagers we're usually just finding ourselves. And i just wonder who I'll be when my stupid teenage phase is over.
