The Dark, Dark Sea

On the shores of the dark, dark sea
I stand watching my love float away
Into the distance
Lost and gone until the end of time

I stand watching my love float away
Tears stream down my face
Lost and gone until the end of time
Into the dark, dark sea

Tears stream down my face
Like rivers all headed for one place
Into the dark, dark sea
To somewhere faraway

Like rivers all headed for one place
People flooding into the ship that will take them
To somewhere faraway
Never to be seen again

People flooding into the ship that will take them
Away from here
Never to be seen again
Like pennies falling out of pockets onto the beach

Away from here
Away from me
Like pennies falling out of pockets onto the beach
I pick them up, and watch the boat
Away from me
The boat glides through the grey waters
I pick them up, hopeful, and watch the boat continue on its path
I guess they weren’t lucky after all

The boat glides through the grey waters
The storm clouds roll in
I guess they weren’t lucky after all
Thunder booms in the dark sky

The storm clouds roll in
Rain drizzles into the water
Thunder booms in the dark sky
Blending in with my falling tears

Rain drizzles into the water
Lost and gone until the end of time
Blending in with my falling tears
On the shores of the dark, dark sea
