Back Alive
As I watch the days fly quickly by
I learn nothing is meant to last
Not a teardrop running down a cheek
Not a sprint run by the strongest athlete
Even our love could never last for long
When our hearts sing their final dying song
No life, we lose a certain consciousness
In an open coffin, dressed in our best
A brand new death upon us strongly bore
No more soldiers in our minds waging war
Thoughts and dreams in a never-ending sleep
No cold fingers gripping the edge to creep
Back alive.
