Bringing Down the House
A day at the festival
 I’ve found the perfect shirt
 The dressing room is nonexistent
A single curtain in a corner
 Inside the crowded tent
Haley follows into the cramped space
To be sure that it fits
 I start to change
 I’m stuck!
 My shirt covers my face
Like a blindfold shutting out light
I stagger and sway like a drunken man
 And bump against the wall
 CRASH! Oh my God!
 The curtain collapses
Into a heap on the floor
 And everybody in the tent
 Is witness to my plight
 Haley is my savior
Holding up the curtain to shield me
Her dad speaks through his laughter
 “Wow Addison, you sure know
how to bring the curtain down.”
