She sets all the treats
in the hot, red oven
and turns on the timer
we wait and wait
until finally they’re done
they are golden brown
soft and chewy
the chocolate practically melting
in your mouth
We prance and sing
all through the kitchen
laughing and giggling
licking batter
from the bowls and spoons
eating cookies
dancing and twirling around
our smiles as big as life
There’s nothing like
making treats
with Grandma
