The dreams will come to you
Like a butterfly in the wind
They will show you the way home
To a place that is warm
Where the sun is bright and hot

The dreams didn’t come
They did not show you the way home
Instead to a place that is cold
Where the sun doesn’t shine

I had to write this piece for an English project last year and I still love it.

I love your butterfly simile, and the hot/cold dichotomy, but the shift between the two stanzas is kind of sudden, so maybe you could add some sort of transitional line. But overall, its very concise and straightforward. It kind of reminds me of Robert Frost's style : )
