Talk Like We Used To
Of course, this time you would listen.
When I'm rattling off thoughts that don't make sense.
Did you smile? or maybe I just missed it.
Did I miss it?
At the time it seemed right to say,
But there's not a thing about that day I don't regret.
And if I could go erase that line, I drew in the sand I'd save time in remembering how to forget.
But with time we could go on forgetting.
No more love for you to deny.
And we would stop laughing out loud for all the world to see.
And I'd miss the universe smiling down at you.
Let's talk like we used to.
