Who am I Supposed to Be?
Every day is new,
but the same acts
occur time and time again.
We are branded
and judged on weight,
trend,
and street smarts.
When the criticism is over,
invisible tape is glazed to our head,
which can be seen by any naked eye.
These 'experts' tell us who we are,
what we are,
and how we're supposed to talk,
but am I required to forget
who I really am?
The real me wouldn't touch this world.
The real me isn't cool.
The real me isn't who she is supposed to be,
and that's alright with me.
