Dancing
Were you watching us practice for the jive?
The teacher counts the beats, we move our feet
“Come stand in a group, on the beat, divide
Slide left, glide right, punch out and take a seat”
Down we all go, crouched down on the wooden floor
Waiting to spring up on “six, seven, eight!”
I know tomorrow I will be sore
But I just cannot ignore the calling fate
It’s so fun and energetically done.
The jive is second on my top fave list
The first is, of course, Hip-hop, so much fun!
Adage, the place I learned to dance is missed
For it’s gone now, though my passion for dance
Has been with me since I lived in France
