What happens to passion?
Does it linger like the
Smell of simmered onions?
Or rise then suddenly crash –
Like a wave on a shore?
Or overflow –
Like a cup of water
Filled past the brim?
Does it expand –
Like a hole
At the tip of a sock?
Or enhance –
Like wine over time
Shelved in a basement cellar?
Or does it vanish?
