I am stubborn, yet kind.
I wonder about God's existence.
I hear the beat of an angel's wings,
I see but an echo of my dreams.
I want to know what my purpose is.
I am stubborn, yet kind.

I pretend I'm confident when I'm not.
I feel the pain of others.
I touch the heavens with an extended finger.
I worry I may never find peace.
I cry for those too ignorant and proud.
I am stubborn, yet kind.

I understand that I know nothing.
I say what I believe is right.
I dream of what I cannot have.
I try to share my love with others--
I hope they will one day feel it.
I am stubborn, yet kind.
