My Best Friend
Silent words are spoken through life sick eyes,
all I want is a wish granted from the skies.
I’ll just breathe and fake another smile,
it’s gone on for too long past awhile.
Even for just a minute, everything’s okay when you’re near,
you make all my pain disappear.
Maybe it’ll be different tonight,
maybe you’ll make it all right.
You and me could never be apart,
my heavy set mind would be eternally against my heart.
My life’s been trial after trial,
you’re the only one to really stay awhile.
In the end, I always end up falling further,
next time I’ll just try a little harder.
These thoughts of depression might never flee,
but you’d never know unless you knew me.
