Temptation

She beckons you
with false words and
promises un-kept.
She takes you to a place
where all you desires
can be embraced
but She never once mentions
that after you go to that world
with all you have ever wanted
and more.
She will throw you away
like a broken light bulb long forgotten
leaving you in the darkness
with the knowledge of having lost
something very important
something irreplaceable
something held most dear to you heart.
For a moment of desire
I asked myself was it worth it?
To give into Her
To let Her take me into Her grasp?
Such the same as a dying man
grasps for his last breath of air
She grasps for the good and innocence
of the world, leaving it a place of sin
and tainting it a
dark shade of black.
