the red and strong
gives way for brown
ugly mush
that was once your
firm, beautiful flesh.
oh, to be young again!
to have back your
flawless, ruby case
and crisp biting body.
to be more than
damaged goods.
but there is no going back.
repent, sinner
because sweet pies and sauce
are not your destination.
repent, sinner
and accept the inferno
of the cider mill.
