The Wire Ring
A gold wire ring
Wrapped around my finger
With two
Rainbow glass beads.
I look and I stare,
The cogs
Of my imagination
Start to whirl.
I see a two headed snake,
Golden and striped,
Twisting and turning and swirling,
With large jeweled heads,
Thick and prominent and proud,
Shinny and bright.
I see two comets,
One fiery and red.
The other one cooling down
With green on its head.
Sparkling and magical and beautiful,
Their tails of gold dust
Streak behind them.
Wrapped around my finger
With two
Rainbow glass beads.
A gold ring in life,
But anything in my dreams.
The wire ring.
