Running Scared
I spent my whole life running from fear to fear
never stopping long enough to see them clear
What was I so scared of?
Was it watching him push and shove
Was it hiding with the door locked
Watching my mom get clocked
maybed it was praying the door would shut in time
Or making sure everything was cleaned to a shine
You were supposed to protect me
Instead early on my eyes saw all there was to see
My childhood was taken
If you thought I didn't see then you were mistaken
I saw it all
The fighting and crying from both of ya'll
How am i supposed to know what love looks like
If all you ever showed me was spite
