Love Runner
Lightly treading through the hot
Mojave Desert,
I'm slowly ingesting the dry air with every step.
The blazing sun is baking my already nuked skin.
I'm headed for the red banner,
The Fountain of Glory.
I can see it now,
Shaking all those hands,
getting the gold medal,
the bright flashing lights...
but...
It's not only the glory that makes the journey worthwhile.
It's always worth running for the one who would run a thousand miles for me.
