The Beach

The crisp air is salty

As I walk towards the shore

The sand pulls my feet

Like a child who wants to play

The sun, floating high in the sky
Seems to be smiling

And I smile, in spite of myself

For I’ve had a long day

But now, at the beach
My thoughts are whirled away

And a voice inside of me seems to say,
“This is the place that you will stay”

And yes, I do believe
That this is the place where I will stay

Wasting my life away
To the beauty of the world

And that is why I love

The Beach

I've never really experienced the thrill of the beach, but my guess is that many of you out there did. I want my poem to be able to relate to your experiences at the beach, and how you spent your time. I do truly hope you like it!
