A pair of eyes in the night
Blood dripping in piercing light
A silent scream no one heard
The laughing cry of a mockingbird
A disappointment in one’s true love
A judgment comes from one above
Innocent killed by fear or ration
Killing innocent became a passion
The cackling laugh of the guilty one
They realize now she’s just begun
The shrill cry of one “possessed”
Speaking words while she’s caressed
A raven peering to the right
A small town full of fright.
