Thoughts of An Attempted Poet
There’s always something in the way
There’s always something getting through
I’m finding it rather difficult
Finding a name for you.
You fill my mind with doubt
You make me insecure.
“It doesn’t flow and doesn’t rhyme;
Why can’t you write like her?”
You distract in the form of Facebook
In music
Friends
and food.
In something shiny
In something funny
In a writer’s cramp
Throughout my hand
That struggles to overcome you
I don’t know what to call you
Writers block? Maybe.
I change my mind, complete the rhyme,
And settle on A.D.D.
