she'd boast
Words an
unwanted ghost
Facts of the past
Obsolete
and we'd all smirk behind her
make Snide jokes about her
Our disdain disguised by conceit
and she'd feed us our tea
with a matched doily
and we'd hold them up over our eyes
when she passed from our arms
we missed her tired yarns
but mostly we just missed her pies
