Heartbeats

Some people count the day or hours or time that goes by as they miss their loved ones.

Some will even count the minutes or seconds.

Maybe the deeper or passionate ones will count the clouds that pass or each star in the sky.

Well that’s not me, even though you're always on my mind I don’t count the second I miss you.

I count each heartbeat that you’re not there.

I count each breathe I take and it’s not talking to you.

I count each step I take and wishing you were beside me.

I count each thought I have about you.

I count each time I blink, hoping when I open my eyes you are in front of me.

I count each waking moment you aren't at my side.

I miss you and I will love you till the end of time.

I really like this poem! To me it sounds like the beginning of a great poet. And it sounds a lot better than some of the stuff they actual publish. You should be in the magazine. Good Work :)
