the ocean walk

when you are walking along the shore,
along the wet sand,
there is an imprint of you there,
it is just a footprint,
but there is proof,
and then the waves come, washing away that proof,
and you are forgotten,
you are now just another person,
that has come to get their ankles wet,
nothing less, nothing more.
