Waiting for my race
Standing behind the block
Cheers coming from all directions
My heat is called
I step up onto the block
Glancing at my seven other opponents
Swimmers take your mark
I crouch down
BEEP
I plunge into the water
The cold rushes up my spine
I am almost at the surface
Halfway through the first length
I am swimming my heart out
Coming close to the wall
Flipping over
Only one more 25
Sprint to the end
Flags over my head
Five more feet
Touch the pad
Look up at the scoreboard
I beat my time
I am overjoyed!
