Christ Is the Only Gift You Need
As you shop for gifts this year
Remember the child that I held dear
Our savior, Our Christ, my son, my heir
The one you've replaced with some man in the air
You shop for toys, dolls, and jewelry galore
Yet you think of Jesus Christ, no more
Too much time spent on greedy behavior
Leads all to forget the birth of their true savior
I see the panic and fear
Wondering if you’ll get the perfect present this year
While you stress over what you might buy
Think of Baby Jesus’ very first cry
I ask of you only one thing
As you wait for sleigh bells to ring
will you remember the night when his first breath had been
When it all began, the start of our salvation from sin?
