Sprinter

like a slick formula 1 racecar
he puts his tornado legs
on the start line of the marathon like a
cheetah prying on his prey,
dreaming of running 100 meters
in less than 9 seconds
confident with it's amazing
agility, stamina, endurance and
especially, his speed.
as the gun bangs,
he leaps forward with all his might
and breaks the finish line,
waving his arms with glory
and slows down on the
rubbery, stepped on track
feeling the cool, gold medallion
hanging from his neck
