Inspiration's Dearth
My metamorphic heart's true colors
are shown unto these pages.
Some of these hues could not be duller.
In some a great fire rages.
While by this action I become impassioned
rivaled not by anything on earth
by inspiration, yet, my joy is rationed,
and sorrow finds me when there is a dearth.
This paucity is soon eradicated
by insights forged in fires of great despair,
and once again I find my soul placated
by that which just a second lingered there.
