lose myself

somewhere between here and there
i lost myself in you
i can barely see what's in front of me
so how should i know just what to do?
i will never get my innocence back,
not after feeling a broken heart
but my faith has been slowly mended
because of a promise to have a new start
i may have lost my way through life
more than a time or two
but everything i had been searching for
is what i found when i ran to you
my fingers tightly locked in yours
no longer insecure
i'm just trying to hold on tight
because i know once you are gone
it's your name i'll be calling-
with a few tears falling-
i might not make it through the night
i'll replay your subtle voice telling me
that it will all be all right
over and over again in my head
so for the time being,
i know i'll be holding,
you a little closer tonight
